AARON SAYERS

Aaron is a registered Psychologist who completed his undergraduate studies at Deakin University in Melbourne, before moving to the ACT to complete his Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra.

Aaron has experience in working with individuals of all ages across the lifespan. He has worked with clients to address presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, adjustment, trauma, social difficulties and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Aaron has co-facilitated a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Program where he has worked extensively with young people experiencing dysregulated emotion and other behaviours. Aaron has also co-facilitated group programs for children experiencing anxiety.

With all clients, Aaron practices with a validating and non-judgemental approach, creating an environment of acceptance to make change possible. He is a compassionate and empathetic practitioner who recognises the importance of trauma-informed care. Aaron adopts a warm, collaborative approach and uses evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Aaron acknowledges that the lives of his clients are difficult as they are currently being lived; with this understanding, he strives to collaboratively assist clients to move towards their goals with empathy, validation, and care.
